Burner charges
Fire a charge and the balloon rises a fixed step. That charge is gone afterward. Later in a run, fewer charges remain, so the moment you spend one matters.

BarometerDriftAltitude puts a drifting hot air balloon in a vertical shaft. Burner charges and ballast bags each raise it by a fixed amount, and every use spends that resource for good. A target altitude band keeps moving. Reach it while you still have a lift left.
Fire a charge and the balloon rises a fixed step. That charge is gone afterward. Later in a run, fewer charges remain, so the moment you spend one matters.
A ballast bag is the other lift. It also raises the balloon by a fixed amount, and using it permanently consumes that bag. You choose the resource as well as the timing.
You do not steer a free climb. The balloon drifts, the band moves, and each lift is a single spent step. Read the gap, then spend.
The target is an altitude band traveling through the shaft. Its place on the next moment is part of the puzzle.
Burner charges and ballast bags are separate supplies. Either one raises the balloon by a fixed amount.
The unit you use does not return. A lift spent early is a lift missing when the band shifts again.
Reach the target altitude while options remain. When both supplies are exhausted, the run has no further raise.
As a flight goes on, careful resource management becomes the whole game. The listing describes two pressures that arrive together.
The goal stays the same: put the balloon on the moving band. The room to miss gets smaller.
